Asked Questions
HedgeZ has detailed information on over 6,000 hedge funds in the United States and throughout the world.
There are two ways a fund can get into the database. Most funds provide detailed information to a publisher of hedge fund data with which HedgeZ has a relationship. FundProfileModel may also have a direct relationship with HedgeZ whereby they provide information on their fund directly to us so we can make this available to you.
All the information in the HedgeZ database is self-reported by the individual funds. This information is provided to an aggregator/publisher of hedge fund data and is made available by HedgeZ to accredited investors.
The HedgeZ database is updated weekly. In most cases we have current quarterly performance information on the funds in our database within days of that information being released by the funds.
You can browse the HedgeZ site and complete our Investor Profile without providing any personal information to HedgeZ. However, to receive detailed information on a specific fund or investment, we may require you to provide basic contact information and to indicate whether you’re an “Accredited Investor” (see below for details). In some instances, it is a legal requirement that we obtain this personal information from you before presenting data on certain funds or investment types.
There are several ways to get contacted by a fund. When you complete our Investor Profile Survey, you’ll be presented with a list of funds that match your profile. You’ll be able to select the funds you’re interested in, provide your contact information and have that fund manager contact you. Some funds in our database also have phone numbers displayed on their profile pages that you can call directly for more information.
Only the funds or investments in which you express an interest will receive your personal information. Please see our Privacy Policy for further details on how we protect your personal information and how and with whom it is shared.
Every fund is different, but the typical minimum investment for a hedge fund ranges from $250,000 to $1,000,000. We have many funds in our database that will accept a $250,000 initial investment, and some as low as $100,000.
You can request information from and invest in any hedge funds we present that interest you. These investments will be transacted directly between you and the fund managers.
